Dimapur, August 10 (EMN): With the objective to reach out to every section of the society and to gather public grievances, State home minister Y Patton hosted an open public interaction programme with the public of Yikhum village at Hotel Japfu, Kohima, on August 9.
Speaking at the first phase programme, Y Patton said such public interaction programme will hosted for every villages in his constituency to gather public grievances on development.
In his speech, the home minister said that Naga politics at present is characterised by ‘ism’ like favouritism to village and areas or favouritism in other way. He said favouritism politics is a stumbling block for the candidates and to the voters, which will eventually hamper their future politics.
He has advocated clean election and urged his supporter not to be follower of money and power politics but exercise their franchise democratically. The home minister also expressed his gratitude to his supporters for sharing their grievances and future developmental aspects to him. He further urged the participants to elect a right leader who can bring more development to the constituency and the state in general.
The meeting was participated by party men consisting of more than 200 from Yikhum village and representatives from Wokha, Kohima, Dimapur.
