Fathers told to play positive role in the society

Dimapur, June 10 (EMN): A three day fathers’ camp conducted under the men ministry of the Chakhesang Baptist Church, Kohima on theme “Let us build our home,” was concluded on Sunday June 10 at Mount Tabor in Kohima. The organisers updated about the event of Sunday. Speaking on the topic “A father for all seasons,” Rev. Khrotso Mero challenged the campers (fathers) to lead the family towards the right direction and build a prosperous family. Calling upon the fathers to bring peace and comfort during turbulent times, Rev. Mero advised them to play a positive role by checking and correcting the social imbalance in the society. He also urged them to be diligent and take care of the family, stating that a father is the manager and planner of the family. ‘Your affection and goodwill service is highly required not only within family but the society as a whole,’ he said and challenged the fathers to be like ‘a giant tree so that the entire family members and the society can enjoy its fruit.’ Be a man of honesty and integrity, he told the campers and advised them to be a worthy to bring better relationship, better understanding and happiness in the family. Other speakers of the three day camp included Rev. Dr. Kevekhalo Lasuh, Athono Rhakho, Rothihii Tetseo, Niehüsa Nakro, Jolayi Nienu, Rev. Vezopa Rhakho, Dr. Vetso Koza, Neikhwezii Venuh and Dr. Chothayi Nienu. Speakers  spoke on topics such as let us build our home, becoming a godly father, marks of a godly father, a disciplined father, the true joy and family altar, fathering god’s way, children education, and health awareness. A total of 120 campers were said to have been participated in a three day camp.
