Dimapur, August 24 (EMN): Vocational training on vermicompost production was conducted by Dr. T Esther Longkumer, ACTO (Soil Science), KVK Phek, ICAR-NRC on Mithun, at KVK, Porba, from August 21 to 24.
During the four-day training programme, lectures on different topics such as ‘Vermicompost production- importance and benefits,’ ‘Vermiculture technology- different methods involved in making of vermicompost,’ ‘Application doses to crops and also as a source of income generation,’ were covered.
A video show on vermicomposting, vermiculture practices and its application in different crops was screened to the participants. On the fourth day of the programme, participants visited the different types of vermicomposting units in the KVK farm. Altogether 10 farmers participated in the programme.
