Farmers trained on organic production technology

[caption id="attachment_131470" align="alignleft" width="550"] Participants pose for the lens during the training programme at Tuensang.[/caption] Dimapur, August 8 (EMN): Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Medziphema, Nagaland in collaboration with AH Agri & Allied cooperative society conducted farmers training at Helipong, Ngangpong and Tuensang ‘C’ khel village under Tuensang district from July 31 to August 2. The training aimed at equipping the farmers with scientific method of cultivation practices and management and to promote skills for income generation so as to as improve livelihood. Resource persons for the training program were Beso Chang, JSCO and Vinoka Y Kiba, DPD, ATMA. Various aspects on organic production technology of vegetables, nursery management and propagation of horticultural crops, importance of post harvest management and value addition of horticultural crops were imparted to the farmers. Trainees also gave feedback presentations. Certificates were distributed to all the participants along with reading materials. Meanwhile, participants have expressed gratitude to the organisers for conducting such practical oriented training programme at the village level for creating interest among the farmers.
