
DIMAPUR — The District Horticulture Office (DHO), Tseminyu conducted a one-day district level training programme for the beneficiaries under PMKSY at DHO Tseminyu, on Thursday.
In a press release, the DHO Tseminyu informed that the resource persons for the training were from M/s Pongen Enterprise, the service provider under fourth instalment of PMKSY 2023-24.
In here address, the District Horticulture Officer, Amenla sought the cooperation of the farmers in taking the department forward and ensuring that only genuine farmers benefit from the various departmental schemes.
She spelled out that those applicants who are later found to be without farms will be replaced with other genuine beneficiaries. She also assured that the department will extend all possible assistance to the well-deserving beneficiaries.
The DHO further encouraged the farmers to continue their hard work stating that despite the technological advancements, human beings need food and the requirement of which can only be fulfilled by the farmers.
During the technical session, the farmers were trained on the operation of the various micro-irrigation systems such as sprinkler and drip irrigation systems, followed by a hands-on demonstration by the resource persons from M/s Pongen Enterprise.
The programme was chaired by Vikiepelie Chadi, Assistant Horticulture Officer, who highlighted on the importance of micro-irrigation systems like drip and sprinkler for the effective management of water resources and increasing the productivity of the crops.
