A glimpse of the various activities at the two-day farmers’ training programme in Pfutsero.[/caption]
Dimapur, June 3 (EMN): The two-day farmers training programme on horticulture crops was organized by Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Medziphema in collaboration with the Horticulture Research Farm (HRF) of Pfutsero on May 19 and 20th.
During the programme, the chairperson, Senti Longchar, horticulture officer (HRF) highlighted about the activities of CIH and HRF.
DHO Phek Moalemba, exhorted the farmers to go for crop selections according to the geographical and climatic conditions of the regions. The institution updated about the event on Sunday.
Tiakaba Longchar spoke on the importance, scope and cultivation practices of kiwifruit in Nagaland. Ngupetso, a progressive kiwi farmer from Pfutsero spoke on the constraints of kiwifruit cultivation.
Rajpal Singh from Global Agri. System and Campbell Tacon from Grow it, Kiwi Solutions, New Zealand interacted with the participants.
The programme was followed by a field visit to Rhakho kiwi Nursery and Kiwi Farm School at Pfutsero.
