Dimapur, March 24 (EMN): National Bank For Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has launched five farmers’ clubs in Khezhakeno, Leshemi, Lasumi, Zapami and Lekromi village, promoted by Chude Agri Allied Cooperative Society ltd (CAACS) and supported by NSCB Pfutsero Branch.
The clubs were launched in the presence of Imsunaro, District Development Manager, (DDM) NABARD, Assistant Branch Manager, NSCB Pfutsero Branch, club members, village members and Chude Agri Allied Cooperative Society ltd (CAACS).
During the launching programme at respective village, Imsunaro shared five principles of development through credit emphasizing on the importance of credit, timely repayment of loans, asset creation under agriculture and saving. He also briefed on roles and function, maintenance of registers, regular meetings, preparation of yearly calendar. Reading materials werealso distributed to club members.
Assistant Branch Manager NSCB Pfutsero Branch, Liudi Zeliang said the primary objective of forming farmers club in a village is to act as a bridge between the village and the bank. He shared on various products of bank like KCC, GCC, Life Insurance policiestc. He also assured full cooperation and support to the club.
