
Participants and officials during the farmer-scientist
interaction-cum-technology distribution programme in Jalukie on Tuesday.
- DIMAPUR — A
farmer-scientist interaction-cum-technology distribution programme was
organised by the ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Eastern Regional
Station, Kolkata, in collaboration with the College of Veterinary Sciences and
Animal Husbandry (CVSc&AH), Central Agricultural University (Imphal),
Jalukie, on Tuesday at the campus under the ICAR-IVRI NEH Scheme.
- According to an update, the programme commenced with the
registration of farmers and the felicitation of dignitaries. Dr. K Mahesh
Singh, assistant Professor, CVSc&AH, Jalukie, delivered the welcome
address, followed by the address of Dr. B Mondal, principal scientist,
representing Dr. Arnab Sen, head, ICAR-IVRI ERS, Kolkata, and the address of
Dr. I Shakuntala, dean, CVSc&AH, Jalukie.
- Three lectures onthe selection of improved breeds for
profitable livestock farming, goat rearing and management, and pig rearing and
management were delivered,respectively, by Dr. K Mahesh Singh, Dr. T Gyaneshori
Devi, and Dr. Imtiwati, assistant professor, CVSc&AH, Jalukie.
- The farmer-scientist interaction followed, culminating in
the vote of thanks by Dr. Amrit Gogoi, assistant professor, CVSc&AH,
Jalukie. The programme concluded with the distribution of 60 piglets, 40 kids,
and 100 bags of feed to 53 farmers.
