Immanuel hall are the champs
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 9: Immanuel Hall of Y Zhimo Colony, Dimapur, emerged as the overall champions of the 4th Faith in Action Taekwondo Championship 2016, which concluded on Saturday at Indoor Badminton Stadium, Dimapur.
Immanuel Hall bagged 25 gold, 8 silver and 14 bronze medals to claim the overall championship, while the 1st runner-up was bagged by Dimapur Club with 15 gold, 8 silver and 11 bronze medals and the 2nd Runners-Up was bagged by Hope Academy by winning 13 gold, 23 silver and 14 bronze medals.
The best discipline award was begged by St. Mary Montessori Higher Secondary School, while the best fighters award was bagged by Temsumar of Vision Home Higher Secondary School and Diana D Chishi of Immanuel Hall, Y Zhimo Colony, was awarded for best fighter in female category. This was informed in a press release by the organisers.
Korean Grand Master Seongkuk Jeong, 7th Dan Black Belt, who was present during the championship, said he was impressed with the local talents. “These young players are truly a product who can represent India in International level if they are given proper training”, he said. The Nagas looks just like Korean and are very friendly, he said while adding that very soon he would pay another visit to Nagaland along with his family, the press release stated.
The 1st India Tia Open International Championship 2016 Taekwondo will be held at Kolkata on December 28 to 29, informed Deep Kumar, Director Faith in Action. Moreover, encouraging the players to involved themselves in sports, he said Taekwondo helps to keep one’s mind fit and brings discipline in one’s life.
