Dimapur, July 5 (EMN): One-week faculty development programme for school teachers on micro and macro skills of teaching is underway at ICFAI University. The programme is being organised by department of Education of ICFAI University, with a focused to empower untrained teachers who are in service.
Professor Charles P. Alexander, the Vice Chancellor of IUN, spoke on modern teaching methods. He encouraged the teachers to recreate an environment where children can learn and develop wholesome personality, and to relate the context with the contents.
He also talked about the faulty ways of teaching-learning methods, and how to bring about changes to meet the needs of the fast changing society.
The topics for weeklong programme include skills of micro teaching, skills of macro teaching, preparation of the lesson plan and the practices of teaching.
The resource persons drawn from different streams and disciplines have undertaken to train the teachers with the objective of enhancing the quality of teaching-learning outcome.
Teachers from various schools in Nagaland are taking part in the workshop. The programme started on July 3 and will be concluded on July 7.
