Dimapur, Sep. 9 (EMN): The 12-hour bandh in Mon town called by the Konyak Union (KU) Mon unit, protesting extortion and harassment on the business community, ended peacefully on Friday.

The shutters in Mon town were down from 6 am to 6 pm on Friday in view of the bandh.

Meanwhile, the Mon block civil societies issued a notice on Friday informing that “there shall be no demands made on any business establishments or commercial vehicle by any individual, groups or societies” from September 9 onwards.

“Anybody found violating this information will be dealt with strictly by the Mon block civil societies. Furthermore, the case will be referred to the competent authority for necessary action,” read the notice to the people of Mon town.
