Dimapur, April 4 (EMN): Expenditure Observer LP Singh, who has been assigned to monitor election expenses incurred by candidates for election to the Lok Sabha representing 1-Nagaland parliamentary constituency, inspected expenses of candidates at the Commissioner's conference hall, on April 4 in Kohima.
The government’s publicity agency Information and Public Relations (IPR) issued on Thursday updates about various election-related activities and preparations that are currently on in Nagaland.
High government officials including state and local administrations were there during Singh’s inspection, the IPR stated.
“The inspection of election expenses is done by the expenditure observer in every election in accordance with the commission's instruction laid down under 'Inspection of Accounts,’” the updates stated.
The third and the last round of the inspection shall be held on April 8 at the commissioner's conference hall at 11:00 am, the updates stated.
General observer at Phek
The general observer for the Lok Sabha elections for Phek district, Alok Nath held a meeting with officials of the district’s administration and with nodal officers at the Phek DC’s office on April 4.
Various aspects of the preparations relating to the election including transportation and poll materials were discussed during the event, the IPR stated.
District electoral officer Sachin Jaiswal briefed the official about the district and its preparedness for the election. The observer also inspected the strong room in the DC’s office.
Peren
The second round of training for presiding officers, first polling officers and second polling officers was held on April 4 in the town hall old Peren town. The polling personnel were instructed to take note of their assigned duties ‘to avoid complications and failure during the process of election,’ the IPR stated in its updates.
“Appointment letters were issued to presiding officers inclusive of appointment letters of his/her team to make it convenient contact their respective polling personnel ahead of time,” it added.

Tuensang
Tuensang district’s election establishment conducted a training programme for female polling officials for the forthcoming parliamentary elections, on April 4. Deepak Bhai Zala, the central expenditure observer for Longleng, Mon, Kiphire and Tuensang districts, was also present in the training, the IPR
informed.
No applicants from Bhandari
The district election officer of Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, has informed public servants in Wokha district who have applied to vote through Postal Ballot for the forthcoming by-elections to the 26-Aonglenden assembly constituency in Mokokchung district that the “facilitation center” in the office of commandant, 7th NAP battalion at Bhandari, stands cancelled. The reason, the IPR reported, is that there is ‘no application under Bhandari sub-division.’
‘As notified earlier, for the rest of applicants, postal ballot voting shall take place at the facilitation centre in the office of deputy commissioner and district election officer, Wokha on the 6th April 2019, from 12 pm onwards,’ the IPR stated.
All voters from the 26-Aonglenden assembly constituency are requested to exercise their franchise on the mentioned date, time and place, the updates added.
