Dimapur, Jan. 17: Based on specific information about transportation of contraband ganja between Senapati and Dimapur on January 15, Excise Department, Narcotic Cell (NC), Dimapur duty team after a hot chase intercepted the vehicle (Esteem) bearing Regd No. DL4CH- 0985 at Chumukedima area at 11: 30 a.m.
The duty party led by Inspector, S. Kakiho Yeptho and Hie Anglong, Constables Abel, Vitsathrong, Khuming, Nemao and Shikaho, during checking of the said vehicle, recovered contraband ganja weighing approximately 160 Kg.
In this connection, one person namely R. John Maram, son of Rang Maram of Lairouching was arrested and a case under Sec 20 of NDPS ACT’85 has been registered against him and forwarded to the court for further necessary investigation.
