Dimapur, Dec. 12 (EMN): Excise Narcotic Cell and Mobile Squad jointly conducted a liquor destruction programme on December 12 at the Excise directorate complex.
An update from the department informed that a total of 7723 bottles of assorted Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), 8961 bottle/ cans of beer and 685 litres of country liquor were destroyed during the programme.
A short programme was conducted before the destruction chaired by S Chanlei Angh, deputy commissioner of excise (Hq) as the destruction board chairman.
Speaking at the function, H Atokhe Aye, commissioner of Excise and Prohibition, commended the two units for remarkable seizures during the last four months. He further directed the enforcement units to enhance the detection and seizures of liquor and drugs in view of the upcoming festival season and the state general assembly election 2023.
