Kohima, Nov. 13 (EMN): The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) has appealed to construction concerns in Kohima that they do not use heavy machinery after 6:00 PM as examinations are approaching. A press release from the union on Tuesday informed that the organisation has noted disturbance that may be caused to students.
With the end-term examinations approaching, the union has appealed to all in concern, particularly to ongoing construction works to restrain from using machineries after 6 pm ‘so as to create a study-friendly environment for the students, which at times cause disturbances.’
The union also prays for good health of the students and conveys its best wishes to all the examinees for their forthcoming exams.
No fine
Also, the ASU lauded educational institutions ‘for striving towards excellence.’ However, the union insisted that the school authorities totally abstain ‘from the culture of imposing fines’ as corrective measures to any detained students. The ASU has suggested that the authorities, being ‘facilitators of education,’ opt for some alternative remedies. The union has cautioned that any institution that is found practising such an action will invite action.
The ASU also reminded ‘those teachers providing tuition to students’ to comply with the norms set by the union i.e., the “students’ code.”
Another issue that the union said to monitor was about the ‘dropping and picking of students from government registered vehicles.’ The union stated that such a practice should be strictly discouraged.
