A Class 12 chemistry exam preparation book authored by Avinu Kennao was launched in Kohima.
KOHIMA — A book titled "Class 12 Exam Focus (Chemistry)", written by Avinu Kennao to support and empower students on their academic journey, was launched by Rev. Fr. Innocent Panmei, Principal of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima, at the Red Cross Conference Hall in Kohima on Saturday.
The book is published under the Heritage Publication House.
Speaking on the occasion, Innocent Panmei expressed that they were launching something bigger than a book and that it is "an idea and confidence as well as an expertise that can help students turn preparation into performance".
He reminded the students that while their examination results are important, they do not define their identity. He expressed regret that marks sometimes seem to define everything, leading students to believe that a number on a report card tells the whole story of who they are.
He urged that while grades are a good indicator of an exam's performance, they are not a good indicator of kindness.
He expressed hope that the book would become a companion in preparation, helping students organise their learning, revise with purpose, identify important areas, and approach examinations with greater confidence.

Lanusangla Tzudir, publisher of Heritage Publication House, shared that the book focuses on the challenges students face. Noting that the author is a teacher at Don Bosco, Kohima, she stated that when a teacher writes a book, it is always to address a gap in the teaching-learning process. She added that writing is a huge responsibility for a teacher and remarked that the author had written the book with great commitment.
She expressed belief that the book will transform students from passive recipients of instruction to active practitioners, bridging challenging gaps and empowering them.
Sharing the story behind the book, the author, Avinu Kennao, recalled that she began preparing the book at school during her free time, between classes, and during breaks. It took her about six months to complete the manuscript.
She shared that the book features previous years' question papers from 2020 to 2025, important keynotes, and unit-wise summaries. She clarified that she wanted to create a companion for students' examinations, not a replacement for the textbook.
