KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 20
An event called ‘Magnificat Fiesta,’ an annual pre-Christmas extravaganza, is being organized by a group calling itself the Coming Generation (TCG), a nongovernmental organization said to be working to ‘foster innovation in today’s generation in developmental sector.’
The objective of Magnificat Fiesta is to promote a ‘culture of togetherness for a fair and tolerant society by discovering practical ways in rhythmic tune,’ the organizers explained on Thursday.
Coinciding with the state’s annual Hornbill Festival, this year Magnificat Fiesta is being organized in support of persons with disabilities. The program would be conducted on December 5 at Kisama village, a symbolic heritage village, in Kohima.Interacting with media persons on Thursday, the organizing members said to have roped in an International performer, Kee Marcello (of Europe) to perform during the event along with other local artistes who will be performing as well. Legislator Kuzholuzo Nienu will be attending the event as the chief guest.
It is informed that Kee Marcello, former guitarist of Europe will be performing live along with his band members Tim Brown, drummer, Jason Banks on the guitar and Wayne on bass player. Their band would be called Europe Show for the event.
Kee Marcello started off his career in the Swedish glam rock/pop-punk wonder NOICE in the early 80’s. In 1982 he became founding member of Swedish Glam rock ban Easy Action, and became the first Swedish man to ever sign a US major label deal.
In 1986, he joined the band Europe, and went on to record 2 multimillion selling albums and play on 3 world tours with the band. Since the breakup of Europe in 1992, he has released four solo albums, which he himself wrote and produced.
With International partners like OSIRIS International and KPD Foundation, the event partners are Tourism Department, Government of Nagaland, Notion-Luxy Flooring Concepts and Sky Entertainment with Press Innovation ‘we print your ideas’ as its printing partners and MJ Creation-custom made production, Dimapur as its graphic designer.
The organizers has also informed that eleven ‘differently-able children’ have been identified from all the eleven districts of the state who are from a very poor background to support them financially in order to help them pursue their dreams. It said all the proceeds from the concert will be distributed to the eleven children.
The tickets are priced at Rs 500, Rs 1000, Rs 5000 and Rs 10,000. The tickets will be available at Kohima Seluo Ba Bakery in Phool Bari; Notion at Razhü Point; Big Bite at Jail Colony and Jo’s Mart at PR Hill.
In Dimapur the tickets can be purchase at Cresendo Notun Bosti; Furtados, opposite Town Hall and Notion at 4th Mile and Purana Bazaar.
