WOKHA — Ethungbeni Patton was crowned Miss Wokha 2026 at a beauty pageant organised by Glamours Event under the aegis of the Lotha Eloe Hoho at Tiyi Hall, Wokha, on Saturday. Loreni Ngullie and Cristal Kikon were declared the first and second runners-up, respectively.
The event was attended by Nzanthung K Yanthan, Assistant Director of the Women Resources Department, Kohima, as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, Yanthan said that true beauty lies in a clean heart, compassion, humility, truthfulness and courage.
Referring to the 10 finalists, he said that reaching the final stage and showcasing their abilities reflected their strength, confidence and potential as true queens.
Acknowledging that only one contestant would ultimately be crowned, Yanthan encouraged all participants to uphold good moral values, remain humble and dedicate themselves to serving society.
Extending an advance message to the eventual titleholder, he said that while the crown would be held for a limited period, the platform should be used to demonstrate talent, wisdom and leadership.
He urged the winner to serve the people with sincerity, compassion and humility, thereby reflecting the true essence of beauty.
Yanthan also lauded the organisers for successfully conducting the event and encouraged them to continue creating meaningful platforms for young women to showcase their talents and abilities.
The pageant featured introductory, casual wear and evening gown rounds, followed by a question-and-answer session.
The programme also included the declaration of subtitle winners, announcement of the top six finalists and a second question-and-answer round before the crowning ceremony.
The event was enlivened by musical performances, songs and a kids’ fashion show.
