DIMAPUR — A training programme under Mera Resham Mera Abhiman (MRMA) was conducted at Vidima village, Chümoukedima, on Wednesday.
The event was jointly organised by the CSB–P3 Unit, Narayanpur, Assam, in collaboration with the State Sericulture Department, stated an update.
The training deliberations primarily focused on host plant pest and disease management, with special emphasis on the major insect pests and diseases affecting castor, the primary food plant of eri silkworm.

The programme mainly highlighted the adoption of Integrated Pest Management technologies as a sustainable approach for ensuring healthy crop growth and improved productivity.
Local eri farmers participated in the programme. They were sensitised about the importance of timely identification and control of pests and diseases and motivated to adopt appropriate scientific practices for better management of castor cultivation.
