Former Parliament Secretary passed away on Wednesday morning. Saku Aier was in charge of Housing, Labour & Employment, in 2008.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister T R Zeliang has expressed shock on the demise of Er T Saku Aier this morning at Dimapur. An Engineer by profession, he was very thorough in his field and “I fondly remember my close association with him when he was appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary in charge of Housing, Labour & Employment, in 2008,” said a condolence message of the Chief Minister. He was all-out in support of the marginalised and spoke for the betterment of the downtrodden like the daily wage earners involved in the unorganised sector of construction industry in Nagaland, the Chief Minister added.
Rio condoles
Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio, has condoled the death of Er. T Sakusangba Aier, former Parliamentary Secretary of Housing and Sericulture. In a condolence message, Rio said late Er. T Sakusangba Aier was not only a leader and a politician but also an educationist who had contributed much to the society, adding he was also the board member of several other educational institutions.
Rio said late Sakusangba Aier had worked for the welfare of the Engineers’ Service Association and the All Nagaland Diploma Engineers’ Service Association. Rio lamented that his demise was a loss to his community in particular and the Nagas in general. He has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.Meanwhile, NPF Central in its condolence message termed Saku Aier as a simple and refined gentleman, who also gave his best services towards encouraging the education of the younger generation, also achieved the noble task to establish the Saku Mission College, at Duncan Basti, Dimapur. “Noted for his philanthropic activities and effort towards social uplift, Late Saku Aier was an active politician who represented the 30th Alongtaki A/C. for the 2008 to 2013 tenure and was the Parliamentary Secretary for Housing, Government of Nagaland,” the NPF message further said.
“President Naga People’s Front, Dr Shürhozelie Liezetsu and all ranks and files of the NPF Central, join the bereaved family members in extending sincere condolences to Mrs. Aier and children and pray that God give them strength and solace to overcome the grievous loss. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” the message added.
