DIMAPUR — The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Special State Office, Dimapur, held a press conference at its office in Half Nagarjan, Dimapur, on Tuesday, to share key updates and information about its activities and services.
During the press conference, the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-II, Dimapur, Samuel Das informed that India has been conferred with the prestigious International Social Security Association (ISSA) Award 2025 for Outstanding Achievement in Social Security (from 19% in 2015 to 64.3% in 2025 benefiting over 940 million citizens) at the World Social Security Forum held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on October 3. The award was received by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Labour & Employment, Youth Affairs & Sports.
He also shared that during the 73rd Foundation Day celebration of EPFO held on November 1 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, the EPFO office Dimapur was also honoured with the ‘Best Remote Office in India.’
This achievement reflects the commitment, perseverance, and teamwork of the Dimapur office in advancing EPFO's mission of social security for all workers of the organised sector in Nagaland, since its inception in 2017, Das said.

He also explained that the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY), which came into effect from August 1, 2025, is a flagship employment-linked incentive scheme of the Government of India.

The scheme aims to encourage formal employment creation by providing financial incentives to employers for on-boarding new employees to the fund.
Under this scheme, the government will contribute a portion of the employer's and employee's EPF contributions for eligible new employees for a period of 2/4 years, he added.
First time employees will receive up-to INR 15,000 in two instalments after 6/12 months of continuous service and a financial literacy course, while the employers/owners will also receive up to INR 3,000 per new hire.
He mentioned that the under the PMVBRY a total of INR. 99,446 crore has been allocated by the Government of India with an aim to promote job creation in both traditional and emerging sectors while expanding social security coverage nationwide.
Another scheme called Employee Enrolment Scheme (EES) 2025, launched on November 1, 2025, provides an opportunity for employers to regularise unregistered employees under the EPF & MP Act, 1952.
Under the EES 2025, employers can now declare and enrol eligible employees previously excluded from EPF coverage, who were alive and employed between July 1, 2017, and October 31, 2025, with waivers or reduced damages and penalties as per the scheme's provisions.
Das added that the EES 2025 will extend PF, pension, and insurance benefits to eligible workers, with no questions asked to employers, reinforcing the government's push for universal social security.
