DIMAPUR — A district outreach programme under “Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0” was conducted by the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) at the Tzudikong multi-purpose hall in Tuli, Mokokchung, on Monday.
The programme was organised with the primary objective of addressing grievances and resolving claim-related issues of former employees of Nagaland Pulp and Paper Company Limited (NPPCL) in Paper Nagar, Tuli.
According to an update, a significant number of Provident Fund accumulations of these employees have remained unclaimed over the years and are presently categorised as inoperative accounts with the EPFO.
Samuel Das, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner of the EPFO Special State Office in Dimapur, addressed a gathering of approximately 50 ex-employees.
In his address, he elaborated on the various benefits under the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme and delivered a detailed presentation explaining the procedures for claiming accumulations from inoperative accounts. He urged members to complete KYC seeding and encouraged them to submit their PF and pension claims online for faster settlement.
Special focus was given to facilitating claims relating to deceased members, ensuring that eligible family members receive the Provident Fund, pension, and insurance benefits due to them.
The programme was also attended and addressed by Imsenperong Wati, ADC of Tuli, and Tali Temjen Ao, Assistant Labour Commissioner of Mokokchung, representing the state government.
Wati appreciated the EPFO’s initiative in organising the outreach programme, highlighting its importance in resolving long-pending inoperative accounts.
Representatives from the management of NPPCL included Associate Vice President Tushar Mehta, Business Development Manager Hemang Joshi, Raju Patel, and Kartik Biswas. The Joint Action Committee and Workers’ Union were represented by A Kika Lenda, K Imlitemjen Jamir, and Noklelimba.
The session was followed by an interactive and hands-on support segment, during which members and claimants received assistance with KYC updation, UAN generation, and clarification of claim-related queries. This support was facilitated by Samuel Das and Kallal Bhattacharjee, Enforcement Officer of the EPFO.
