Dimapur, March 1 (EMN): The president of Business Association of Nagaland (BAN), Mongkum Jamir, on Tuesday asked entrepreneurs in the state to do business which is ‘ethically accepted.’
He stated this at the launch event of ‘The New Age Baleno’ at Nexa showroom, Airport road, in Dimapur. He stated that Nagas were ‘very welcoming,’ especially business persons from various states of the country, and by doing so ‘we are enhancing our economy.’
He shared that in the core system of business in Nagaland, more than 90% of businesses are run by people from outside the state.
“Doing ethical business is one thing which we demand among our Nagas, as we do not want other people coming from outside or our own state to come over and try to take advantage of the people’s weakness,” he stated.
He requested the business persons to come and earn from the state but at the same time teach the locals too and not take advantage of them.
Further, he mentioned that when it comes to dealership sectors, most of the automotive dealership sector in Nagaland are being led by Nagas but “the only thing is that service is one sector we really need to work hard on.” He stated that service is one thing ‘we all need to consider and need to work hard on,’ adding that “we should not compromise with services but learn whether the business is big or small.”
‘When we do business, we need to work very hard but we need to work smarter,’ he added.
The ‘New Age Baleno,’ which was unveiled on Tuesday in Dimapur is a technology premium hatchback equipped with a host of technology, safety, comfort and convenience features. The cost of the Baleno at ex-showroom price starts at INR 6,45,745 (Sigma).
