Dimapur, Oct. 17 (EMN): Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union Bangalore (ENSUB) celebrated its 15th annual freshers’ meet on October 15 at United Theological College Benguluru on the theme “Think globally, act locally.”
An update from the union stated that the event started with Yimchunger folk song followed by a welcome speech from its president Pongkhyuse Sangtam. Others who spoke on the occasion included its vice president Agin, NEWAK president Akho and ENFB advisor Athok. A special prayer for the freshers was said by Rev. Seiboi Kipgen, pastor of Kuki worship service, Bengaluru.
The release also stated that BS Nganlang, MLA and chairman of DPDB, Longleng, delivered a powerful speech on the importance of forming an union and the need for unity among the Nagas. While highlighting on the various opportunities for students in this modern world, he advised the students not be driven away by short routes to gain success.
“Try to work hard and learn the best you can and inherit good things which can be applied to our society,” the MLA stated.
He summed up his speech by saying, “If you are fully equipped with knowledge, you can bring the change in our society.”
Sangkhamong Chai and Lidiya Buchem were crowned Mr and Miss Freshers respectively
