DIMAPUR — The office of the Eastern Nagaland Sumi Students' Union (ENSSU) has condemned the ripping of the official banner of the ENSSU's 18th General Conference, which was raised at the Kohima Road Samphure junction in Kiphire.

In a condemnation note, the union stated that it is shocked to learn of the act, which occurred between December 29, 2023 and January 1, 2024, and described it as an ‘abuse’ towards the student community and Eastern Sumis in general.

“This kind of act in a civilised society is strongly condemnable,” the note read, adding that when people want to promote peace and harmony and live in unity, such an unwanted act causes commotion.

The ENSSU has requested that the investigating authority book the individuals involved and punish them in accordance with relevant sections of the law of the land.
