Dimapur, Oct 18 (EMN): Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has announced to launch phase wise agitation at the Directorate of Department of School Education (DoSE) with effect from October 23 to express resentment against the alleged department’s adamant attitude towards resolving the Maths and Science subjects (GT) examination issue which was conducted on September 25 thereby depriving the just rights of the Eastern Nagas.
The decision to this effect was unanimously taken during an emergency presidential meeting held on October 18 at Kohima. It cautioned that the agitation will intensify until the justice is delivered.
ENSF president Sepili L Sangtam and the general secretary Imtichoba Chang mentioned that the federation had submitted several representations to the Department concerned and the Government appealing to re-advertised the GTs (Maths & Science) posts in line with the Government notification No. EDS (A)-5/2002 dated 9th January 2009. The latest being the 15 days ultimatum served to the chief minister requesting his intervention to re-advertised the posts in line with the said notification immediately. It also stated that the chief minister had written to the concerned minister to rectify and comply with the notification strictly whereas the department had failed to responds even after expiry of the deadline.
With no option left but to resort to extreme steps to redress its grievances, the federation has sought cooperation from all the citizens of Kohima during the course of agitation. The federation further warned that the government and the department of School Education would be solely held responsible in the event of any untoward incident during the period of agitation.
