Dimapur, May 30 : The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has appealed to teaching community in Eastern Nagaland - Tuensang, Mon, Longleng and Kiphire to abstain from any sort of agitation in the mid-academic year instead focus on the career and quality of education. ENSF president Shahsha L Menhahu and Asst.general secretary Topongchuba Chang in a communique said, “The present imbroglio of the school education department does not justify quality education to the students and when the education system is in a transitional stage the students community do not expect the teaching community to derail the daily classes due to the problem within the department or the issue of the bifurcation of secondary and higher secondary school.” The federation viewed that the private schools are consistently performing well as they have composite school from class A-12 under one administration where teachers and school administrator get to nurture the students for long years and produce good results. Unlike private schools, government schools are set up in such a way that primary schools, middle schools, high schools and higher secondary schools are located in different places, and result in poor coordination and poor results. The federation reminded both the education department officials and teaching community that quality education should be paramount while making policy related to education and students’ interest. The ENSF stated that NBSE have fixed the date of compartmental exam for the failed students starting from June 1. Considering the career of the students, the federation said it will not tolerate any kind of agitation be it democratic or undemocratic form as it will directly hamper the career of the students.
