
DIMAPUR — Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Mokokchung (ENPUM) on Saturday organised a health awareness seminar at Sangtam Baptist Church, Mokokchung. The seminar was facilitated by the Mokokchung division of Health department.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]In his welcome address, N Chuba Phom, assistant planning of officer, Mokokchung, requested the participants to learn and amplify the knowledge gained in the seminar to the community as well, stated an update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Mokokchung.
Quoting the phrase ‘Health is wealth,’ the CMO of Mokokchung, Dr. Kibangkumba, in his keynote address, urged the participants to focus on health related topics to be addressed by the facilitators of the awareness seminar. He stated that preventive measures and knowledge would go a long way in reducing health concerns.
He further urged the participants to spread the knowledge acquired from the awareness seminar not only to near and dear ones but also to those who might be unaware and away in their villages.
It mentioned that topics on the importance of ANC and PNC, institutional deliveries, government schemes and high risk pregnancies, immunisation and adverse effect following immunisation (AEFI), exclusive breastfeeding and complimentary breast feeding and early childhood diseases, family planning (spacing) and community process (NCD, role of ASHAs) were addressed during the awareness seminar.
The facilitators were Dr. Supongmeren, senior specialist at IMDH; Dr. Imlisenba, peadiatrician at IMDH; and Matsungshila, CHO of Longkong.
