Dimapur, May 28 (EMN): The Eastern Naga People’s Organisation (ENPO) has informed that show-cause notice has been issued to a number of people on alleged account of what was stated simply as “partisan politics.”
A press release that the organisation issued on Sunday did not name the persons but implied that they were officials of the ENPO.
‘The ENPO, in its executive meeting which was held on May 26, 2017 at its treasurer in Dimapur unanimously resolved to issue a show cause notice to some of its officials who are openly or actively involved in a partisan politics where some officials are reportedly involved, thereby amounting to violation of its constitution,’ the press release stated.
As per its constitution, the organisation explained, ENPO officials shall not be active members of any political party nor will they “indulge in partisan politics.”
Therefore, the ENPO has “notified upon those officials in person or in written within one week w.e.f. the date of the above executive meeting was held, and explain as to why appropriate action cannot be taken against them for violation of the ENPO constitution.”
In the event that no reply is received within the stipulated time, the organisation added, “it will be presumed that they have no reason to defend themselves and for which further action shall be initiated against them.”
