Eastern Naga National Workers’ Organisation (ENNWO) has urged the Government of India to honour the Framework Agreement and Agreed Position.
DIMAPUR — The Eastern Naga National Workers’ Organisation (ENNWO), designated camp Khehoyi, has reaffirmed that the Eastern Naga National Workers’ Association (ENNWA) remains committed to an early, acceptable and honourable Indo-Naga political solution and called on the Government of India (GoI) to honour both the Framework Agreement and the Agreed Position in letter and spirit.
In a statement of affirmation issued on Tuesday, the ENNWO said the ENNWA is a welfare body comprising members drawn from all Naga political groups and communities of eastern Nagaland.
The association is headed by a convener, secretary and other officials selected from across the eastern Naga communities.
The organisation stated that any views relating to political or welfare matters should be communicated through official channels to ensure proper deliberation and coordination among the leadership.
“The ultimate goal and objective of the ENNWA, along with the rest of the Nagas, is to pursue an early, acceptable and honourable Indo-Naga political solution. This remains the foremost priority of all ENNWA leaders and followers,” the statement said.

The ENNWO clarified that the issue of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) is a matter involving the Government of India, the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) and the Government of Nagaland.
It further said the ENNWA is an association of Naga national workers affiliated with various Naga revolutionary institutions and remains fully committed to pursuing an honourable and acceptable Indo-Naga political settlement.
“The expression and aspiration of the ENNWA ought to align with the historical and political rights of all the Nagas,” the statement added.
Referring to the ongoing Naga peace process, the organisation said that if the Framework Agreement contained any political inconsistency or deficiency, the Agreed Position signed on November 17, 2017, had “given flesh to the bones.”
“The Framework Agreement and the Agreed Position are irreversible political documents. The ENNWA and the rest of the Nagas must insist that the Government of India honour them in letter and spirit so as to usher in enduring peace in Nagaland and the North East region as a whole,” it said.
The statement reiterated that the association’s stand is rooted in safeguarding the collective historical and political rights of the Naga people while working towards a lasting and honourable political settlement.
