KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 15: Commemorating the birth anniversary of Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, Federation of Nagaland State Engineering Services Association (FONSESA) today reminded the engineers to introspect of their past works and to think on what they can do for the progress and development of the State and its people.
Stressing on the importance of team work- an important requirement among the engineers, Advisor FONSESA Sale reminded that as a team they need to look as how to work, plan, design and execute the works with sincerity, dedication and accountability.
Citing the collapsing of the system and displaced planning as a hinder to delivering quality works and a challenge to the engineers, Sale urged the engineers to make slight changes within oneself to bring changes to the system and the works as well.
Chief Engineer, Er Krosü Rhetso, said engineers as ‘technocrats and professionals’ are least bothered about the office procedures. He, therefore, stated that engineers need to be sincere and well versed about their surroundings in order to add, multiply its knowledge and thereby increase their efficiency.He also urged them to learn new things as they continue to work by being responsible men and women and set good example to the younger generation to follow, adopt and go by the system.
Retired Engineer, Y Chuba, emphasised on the need for engineers to concentrate more on the expansion of the department, workmanship and quality control. He also reiterated that despite financial constraints ‘engineers should be the change to change the system’- an agent for development and improvement of the department and the State.
Er. Chanbemo Lotha, who is also the former president of FONSESA, said engineers should always strive to come with innovative ideas, stating that the economy of the State depends on the engineers through quality infrastructures like good roads, electricity, water supply etc. Asserting that engineers should not succumb to the corrupt system, Lotha reminded them to rededicate to their services with sincere conviction for quality workmanship.
The programme was chaired by Er. Sobu Angami, while the welcome address was pronounced by Er. Shikato Sema, technical power point presentations were made by Additional Director of NRE, Er Kavito Chishi and EE, PWD, Er Imnameren respectively and the vote of thanks was proposed by Er Dzüvichütuo Khale.
