
DIMAPUR — In connection with the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha election 2024, a co-ordination meeting of various enforcement agencies was held in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s (DC) office in Kohima on Friday.
Chairing the meeting, the DC of Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, highlighted the menace of liquor and cash flow in the state. In order to curb the liquor menace, he informed that actions would be initiated from the date of the notification of elections by setting up of SST, stated a DIPR report.
He added that checking by SST on the major roads or arterial roads would commence from the date of notification of election and added that SST would be controlled by the district electoral officer (DEO) and superintendent of police (SP) in consultation with the general observer and expenditure observers.
He further mentioned that production, off take, stock limits of licensed stockist, daily receipt and off take of retail sellers of IMFL, beer, country liquor and opening and closing time of liquor vending shops should be closely monitored.
