Dimapur, August 10: The Eastern Nagaland College Students' Union (ENCSU) is taking its first phase of agitation by organising a sit-in-protest outside Secretariat Complex Kohima on August 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
The decision was taken today at a joint meeting of the Eastern Nagaland People Organizations (ENPO), Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) and Eastern Naga Women Organization (ENWO) at DUDA Guest House Kohima.
During the meeting, the house deliberated on the issues of MBBS and BDS and the ultimatum submitted by the union to state government through Chief Secretary on July 26. ENCSU Jt. Secy, Nokchem Angth in a press note said that all the representatives from different organizations and the colleges express resentments to the government for not taking the issue seriously and endorse support to the ENCSU in any activities until justice is delivered.
The protest will be organized in a peaceful democratic way to send resentment to the government for failing to fulfill union's demand to review the NSSE and allocate the 4 missing seats to the BT candidates, the press note said.
The union therefore sought cooperation from general public and all the educational institutions from Kohima to allow the Eastern Students to attend the protest. Further, the union requested the general public of the Eastern Nagaland and other BTs to come forward and support the protest as the issue is concerned for all the BTs.
