A training programme on National Electoral Rolls purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP), with all the Administrative Officers/AEROs, Supervisors, media, political parties of Kohima district units, NGOs, Civil Societies, all the Chairman/Secretary of Panchayats/wards of Kohima town was conducted on March 26 at DC’s Conference hall, Kohima. In the programme, ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi welcomed all the participants where she said that the NERPAP exercise was being carried out to clean up the electoral rolls. She requested all concerned, specially the Supervisors, to give proper attention to the trainings on NERPAP and also clarify their doubts if any.
She said that 19 Supervisors have been appointed in the district to assist the AEROS.
AEO, Kohima, R. Mhathung Ngullie gave a detailed briefing on the objectives of NERPAP whereby linking and authentication of EPIL data of electors would be done with Aadhaar data of UIDAI only.
It also includes voluntary disclosure by the electors concerned of multiple entries pertaining to them and disposal of such cases within 15 days by the concerned electors; correction of errors or any relevant entry pertaining to electors within 15 days on production of cogent documentary evidence; improvement of image quality wherever requested by following the due procedure and obtaining and feeding in the ER database the mobile and email address of the electors.
The AEO also appraised on the methodology of Aadhar feeding and also on the various trainings to be imparted to BLOS/BAGS. Interactive sessions were held among those present where the participants clarified their doubts from the resource persons.
