Dimapur, Sep. 11 (EMN): The establishment of the Chief Electoral Officer has issued a list of how-tos for electors to get their electoral details verified and authenticated. The Election Commission of India had launched the Elector Verification Programme (EVP) on September 1. The exercise will continue till October 15 2019.
The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), gave details on Wednesday informing about how citizens can verify their electoral details.
Electors may verify their details in the following ways:
1. ‘Voter helpline’ mobile app which can be downloaded from Google Playstore
2. NVSP website (www.nvsp.in)
3. By visiting Common Service Centres or CSC
4. By visiting Voter Facilitation Centres or VFCs at ERO/AERO office
5. People with disabilities may call the voter helpline 1950 ‘seeking facilitation’
A voter facilitation centre is being set up in the office of the Home Commissioner, Nagaland Civil Secretariat to assist employees who are registered electors to verify and authenticate their entries in the electoral rolls. The VFC will function from 11 am to 4 pm from September 16 to the 21st 2019, the updates stated.
Authentication of entry can be done by furnishing copy of one of the following documents: Indian Passport, driving license, Aadhaar, ration card, identity card for government/semi-government officials, bank passbooks, farmer’s identity card, PAN card, smart card issued by RGI under NPR; latest water/telephone/electricity/gas connection bill for that address either in the name of the applicant or that of his/her immediate relation like parents etc, the IPR stated.
