Dimapur, Dec. 20 (EMN): A meeting with all recognized political parties in Nagaland was convened by the establishment of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland on Dec. 19 in Kohima in connection with Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll wef 1.01.2019 as the qualifying date.
According to the DIPR, Chief Electoral Officer Abhijit Sinha spoke to the political parties about the various activities being undertaken by the Election Commission relating to preparation of an authentic and error-free electoral roll, which will be used for the coming elections. He informed that the final electoral rolls would be published on 10.01.2019, subject to the approval of the commission. If there are any additions, deletions or corrections to be made in the final electoral rolls, it shall be taken up under the continuous update exercise, it was informed.
The CEO also asked the parties to appoint booth level agents for polling stations to review the electoral roll, the DIPR informed.
