EKU Myanmar, Yung Aung-led NSCN/GPRN-K condole Mon landslide victims

DIMAPUR — The Eastern Konyak Union (EKU), Myanmar, and the Konyak Region of the Yung Aung-led NSCN/GPRN-K have expressed sorrow and extended condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the recent tragic landslide in the Mon district.

In separate condolence messages, both organisations noted that unavoidable disruptions in communication and internet connectivity across their regions had prevented them from issuing their statements earlier. They shared that despite the delay, their prayers, grief, and heartfelt concern for the affected families have been with them throughout this difficult period.

EKU Myanmar: The EKU Myanmar stated that the devastating tragedy has claimed precious lives, leaving families heartbroken and the entire Konyak community united in grief.

The President of the EKU, PM Aman, also conveyed his sincere appreciation to the Konyak Union, Mon Headquarters, for its commendable efforts in coordinating the search and recovery of the victims. He remarked that their selfless service reflects the enduring spirit of unity, compassion, and brotherhood that characterises the Konyak people.

NSCN/GPRN-K: Meanwhile, the Konyak Region of the Yung Aung-led NSCN/GPRN-K expressed sadness over the calamity, stating that the loss of so many precious lives is a source of deep sorrow for all.

“We also express our sincere appreciation to all personnel, volunteers and members of the local community who are working tirelessly in rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts. Their courage, compassion and selfless service during this difficult time are deeply appreciated,” it said.
