Kohima, May 14 (EMN): Altogether eight matches were played on the second day of the ongoing 11th edition Open Basketball Tournament (OBT) on Tuesday May 14 at the Kohima local ground.
The day opened with a competitive match between Taurus and Elite Basketball. Team Taurus managed to win the game by two points leading with 23-21 respectively. Defending champion Stallions advanced in its first match for this year after defeating St. Joseph 46-28, in the second match.
Orca knocked Tepenjem down 49-23 in the third match. Interestingly, Road Runners and Road Trouncers scored a tie of 33-33 points each.
Backyard Ballers led the fifth match by one point against XLR8, with 26-25 scores. Jumpers comfortably set its score board high 73-16, against Art City Warriors.
The seventh match witnessed a resilient bounce between Ophidians and CMD Hoopers in the first two quarters. Team Ophidians went on to beat Hoopers 39-33. Meanwhile Elite Basketball defeated Kohima Royals 43-25.
Mention may be made that XLR8, Tepenjem, Art City Warriors, and CMD Hoopers lost two matches each, by far.
Superintendent of Police (INT), Dinesh Gupta (IPS) attended the occasion as chief guest. He extended best wishes to all the participating teams.
