Dimapur Youth Fest 2018, under the theme ‘Youth towards a Progressive Society’ is underway here at DDSC stadium, Dimapur. Organised by Ethnic Group of Nagaland (EGoN) in collaboration with M/s MW Enterprise, the fest was officially inaugurated by Naga Hoho president Chuba Ozukum as the special guest on Fri. Aug. 24.
Speaking on the occasion, Ozukum said that though not everyone who would be participating in the events during the two-day programme would come first, coming together and participation matters.
Touching diverse topics in his speech from digital media to menacing presence of corruption in the society, he said that it is time that the youths should work hard for bringing peace and with peace everything else will fall together but to attain peace there is a need to eliminate corruption.
Ozukum was also critical of the youths spewing negativity on social media and observed that the youths are not appreciative of anything and are always ready for criticism.
During the programme, the 17 contestants competing for the crown of Miss Dimapur 2018 put up a vibrant show. Besides, it also had the presence of Nagaland Motorcycle Club led by Chief Sanen Jamir.
The inaugural programme was chaired by EGoN general secretary Watila Rashmi and invocation prayer was pronounced by John Mission Ministry, Dimapur Pastor Yanger Aier. The fest will culminate on August 25 with the crowning of Miss Dimapur 2018.
