DIMAPUR, MAY 21: ‘Eden Enterprises and Ministry (EE&M)’ - a new initiative for change with a unique approach of bringing employment among the educated unemployed youth of Nagaland - was launched today in Dimapur. ‘Eden Enterprises and Ministry (EE&M)’ is centered at Dimapur and founded by NCF Pastor Pune, Rev. Achu Chang. The objective of the ministry covers vast missions that aim to provide employment opportunities among the youth of Nagaland.
Some of the objectives involve creating businesses for missions, retrieve work culture with more job opportunities, mentor and discipline young people at work places, create skill development venues, support NCF in different cities and people with needs and to inculcate biblical principles in every areas while creating awareness on environmental issues by introducing eco-friendly products.
Achu Chang, during the inaugural programme, highlighted some important issues faced among the youth of Nagaland. The pastor viewed that the most common replies of youth who pass out from other cities says, ‘Let’s see after reaching Nagaland,’ which sadly remain unchanged perpetually for years as educated unemployed youth.
He said NPSC has become a chronic disease for Nagas that stops both parents and children to hunt for any other jobs. He lamented that educated youth today have no place as most of the common jobs are getting exhausted in Nagaland. On the contrary, the pastor said most Naga youth aim for white collar jobs while rejecting low profile jobs like plumbers, electricians, fabrication, etc. that could actually help one in earning more.
The pastor, who has been serving outside Nagaland for more than 15 long years of experience, said most of the Nagas who goes outside with an aim of finding good job with better salaries ended up working in call centers as Nagas are not acquainted with long working hours. In this regard, he said EE&M plans to share such problems and issues with churches and leaders of Nagaland and strive towards better days ahead.
He also commented that the ministry also plans to tie up with repute institutions in cities and train the Naga youth in order to learn and impart the same learning among the youth living in all corners of Nagaland.
EE&M plans to spread in all corners of Nagaland and also help the differently abled people in providing job opportunities.
During his presentation, he also touched slightly on the weaknesses of Naga businessmen. Supporting his remark, he said most of the Naga customers tend to visit only non-Nagas shop as their dealings were rude with no proper services.
Simultaneously with the inaugural session, EE&M also launched a ‘self watering pot’- a new invention in gardening called ‘Plantina’ - which has come to Nagaland after Pune and Mumbai. ‘Plantina,’ unlike other ordinary pots, has a unique feature that has the capacity to retain water for days without drying.
