Kohima, July 24 (EMN): MLA from Moka assembly constituency EE Pangteang was sworn in as minister today, completing the equation to chief minister TR Zeliang’s new council of ministers.
Governor PB Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly inducted minister at a swearing-in function at the Raj Bhavan Kohima this morning.
After Zeliang took over the chief minister’s chair on July 19 following a bitter rivalry with the NPF president and former chief minister Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, 10 ministers were sworn in on July 22 to the 12-seat cabinet berth headed by the chief minister. Pangteang’s name figured on the initial list of the new council of ministers, but due to some internal squabbling among MLAs it was reported that there was a last-minute change and he could not be sworn in along with his colleagues on Saturday.
