Dimapur, May 14 (EMN): The minister for Higher & Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along had a meeting with Ishita Roy, Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (Rusa) mission director who is also the joint secretary Higher Education, Ministry of HRD; Prof. Venkatesh Kumar B, Tata Institute of Social Sciences; Suman Shukla, senior consultant (Rusa) on May 14 at RUSA Resource Centre, Sri Ram Centre for Arts & Culture, in New Delhi.
The minister was accompanied by the state project director and project officer (Rusa), three principals of government colleges and principal investigator of RUSA Nagaland R&I project.
A press release received here on Monday stated that the officials discussed on the successful implementation of various projects in the state under Rusa phase-1.
The Education minister elaborated on his vision for Nagaland as an education and research hub not only in the Northeast but also at national and international level. He is stated to have highlighted the restraints and challenges faced by the colleges in the state for which he requested for special consideration under RUSA 2.0.
According to the press release, the ministry officials were impressed with the implementation of projects in Rusa 1.0 and assured to address the programmes and issues of the Northeast with priority.
The officials have also acknowledged the personal initiative taken by the Education minister and expressed confidence of his leadership to achieve the vision.
