Dimapur, May 20 (EMN): An education fair that organisers called 'Nagaland’s biggest educational fair' will take place this week in Kohima.
The fair will be at the Hotel De Oriental Grand in the capital town on the 21st and 22nd of May, organisers informed on Monday in a press release.
The fair will be organized by educational initiatives and capacity-building resources such as EduCentre, YouthNet, Runway, The Knowledge Network, and EduHub.
A similar event during the previous year had more than 2000 students attending the fair, the updates stated.
During that edition many students could access information about various courses, colleges, facilities, tuition fees, placements and opportunities of study in India and abroad, the organisers stated.
Although more than 30 colleges applied to participate this year, the organizers filtered the list to 15 institutions with a focus to ensure that quality is prioritized for the students, the updates stated.
The press release stated: "The fair presents a unique opportunity for parents and students to directly meet institutions offering different courses and get information about the career opportunities in the courses offered like
AI (artificial intelligence), engineering, MBA, BBA, law, hotel management, arts, commerce, sports, medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy, management, commerce and IT or new age courses like animation, design, fashion, hospital management, digital marketing and more."
The press release mentioned a student counsellor at EduCentre as having mentioned that parents incur huge expenses, time and running pillar to post travelling to cities for admissions.
“Here, the universities have come to our doorstep. These universities offer various options of courses to choose from interest, preferred city of study, diverse environment of students, budget, scholarships and study post placement even in the U.S and in Europe and it gives our students an opportunity to choose," the press release quoted the counsellor Asanu, no surname given.
"The targeted groups are the outgoing students of classes 10+2 and bachelors,” she said.
Previously too, EduCentre and YouthNet had organised an educational trip for 20 students, the updates stated.
The educational fair will take place in Kohima on May 21 and the 22nd before moving to Hotel Acacia in Dimapur on the 24th and the 25th. Entry is free, the organisers informed.
