DIMAPUR — The East Dimapur Business Association (EDBA) held an emergency meeting on Wednesday with general body members to express their strong protest against the “undemocratic move” of the three-member nomination committee/interim body for exercising powers beyond their mandated roles.
An update from the EDBA stated that it was resolved in the meeting to dissolve the “nomination committee/interim body,” and a new nomination committee shall be set up in accordance with the EDBA constitution.
The house further resolved that the establishment of an interim body has no constitutional standing and violates the EDBA constitution. Therefore, the existing interim body is null and void, and no interim body shall be formed in the future.
Allegations were made against the convenor of the nominating committee/interim body, who was accused of committing a “gross misdeed by deceitfully attempting to amend the constitution of the EDBA” for personal gain, in a self-styled manner and without the knowledge and consent of the general body.
He was warned to desist from his “sinister activities” immediately.
The EDBA requested individuals to refrain from associating or cooperating with him in any matters related to the association.
