Dimapur, Feb. 5: An emergency joint meeting of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Dimapur (ENPUD), Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Chumukedima (ENPUC) and Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Diphupar Area (ENPUDA) along with six tribal federating units held at Dimapur on January 5.
In a press note jointly appended by president ENPUD, M.C.Ongbou Chang; president ENPUC, N.Tingyuh Konyak and president ENPUDA, K.Longchi Konyak informed that the meeting resolved to stand by the resolution of the apex ENPO to extend its support to the demand of the general voice of the Nagas as put forth by the NTAC and JCC demanding resignation of the Chief Minister, termination of those erring police personnel involved in the said incidents and suspension of officers involved in the firing incidents at Dimapur and Longleng that led to the lost of two precious lives and injuring many.
The house also unanimously resolved to extend its fullest support and cooperation to Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) towards imposing of bandh within Dimapur as endorsed by the ENPO till the demands are fulfilled.
Meanwhile, the joint meeting also extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members, villagers and tribes of the deceased who sacrifice their precious lives for the cause of the Nagas. It also prays for speedy recovery of the injured persons.
While acknowledging all tribal units and youths for their cooperation in the past relating to public movement in regard to holding of ULBs election, the Eastern people organisations further appealed all to continue to cooperate in coming days.
