Dimapur, Aug. 21 (EMN): Taking common issues to the table, the Eastern Nagaland National Workers Association (ENNWA) of NNPGs and Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) held a joint consultative meeting at Hotel Saramati Dimapur on Aug. 18 where the issues of the ongoing Naga peace talk and the ENPO statehood demand was thoroughly discussed upon.
The ENPO media cell, in a press release, informed that the joint meeting was initiated by the ENNWA-NNPGs. It informed that the ENPO continues to laud the Government of India for inviting the Working Committee (WC) of the NNPGs for the talks in 2017 and termed it as 'groundbreaking with much optimism towards political consensus in the protracted Indo-Naga political issue.
"While expressing its continued support for the Naga peace talk of all the groups, the ENPO hope that the ongoing talks will usher towards bringing a meaningful dialogue and a lasting solution acceptable to all stakeholders at the earliest," stated the release. Meanwhile, the release further informed that the ENPO appreciated the ENNWA-NNPGs for their fullest co-operation and support, "after having understood the genuineness of the demand", towards the ENPO's demand for a separate state.
