East Dimapur Town Council urges businesses with valid trade licences to remain open on Sundays after noon
DIMAPUR — The East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has asked businesses to remain open on Sundays after noon, asserting that establishments holding valid trade licences should be allowed to operate within its jurisdiction without undue interference.
In a statement issued on Monday, the council appealed to hotels, pharmacies, petrol pumps, bakeries and street-food vendors to continue their operations, stressing the importance of their services to the public.
The EDTC maintained that businesses operating under valid trade licences within its jurisdiction were entitled to function subject to applicable laws and regulations.
It also urged individuals, organisations and associations to refrain from issuing orders or directives that obstruct the functioning of such establishments.
