Dimapur, April 1
Local business capacitors, the Entrepreneurs Associates, conducted what they called “commencement day” on April 1 for trainees of a program called “Basic Entrepreneurial Skills Training (BEST) Wave 4,” at the Associates’ training and research centre in Kohima town.
The training was conducted from February 15 and till March 31. Among the attendees were not only trainees and staffers of Entrepreneurs Associates but also family members and guardians of the trainees, the organizers informed in a note issued to the media on Friday.
Susan James, lead trainer of the Entrepreneurs Associates, exhorted the trainees. She urged them to “continue to strive and work hard, to keep on seeking for knowledge, to always keep their goals visible and not to be afraid to make new mistakes but instead learn from them.”
Besides having strong faith in God, James also encouraged them to learn “how to unlearn so that new things can be learned.”
Certificates with cash incentives earned during the training were handed over to all the participants by Susan James. It was announced that trainee Tiasenla Ozukum was the highest earner of the batch.
The CEO of Entrepreneurs Associates, Neichiite Doulo , also spoke to the trainees. In his speech, Doulo encouraged the trainees to think differently from the ‘common mindset.
“He stressed that while opportunities around us are many, we fail to see them. He said that a certificate from EA is not a ticket to success and wished all the trainees ‘success’ that comes from hard work and perseverance,” the press release quoted him as having said.
The trainees expressed gratitude to the organization and shared their experiences during the training.
BEST is a programme that “facilitates learning basics of start-up entrepreneurial ventures for youth,” the organization stated. The event is conducted year around. “It is an EA initiative and supported by the Tata Trust, Mumbai,” the organizers stated.
