Dimapur, March 22 (EMN): Governor PB Acharya has appealed the citizens of the state to participate in Earth Hour by switching off ‘non essential lights’ from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm on March 24.
According to a Raj Bhavan statement on Thursday, the governor has urged to ‘create a healthy and environmentally safe world by playing one’s role in reducing carbon footprint in personal life and workplace.’
He reminded that every year people around the world unite through the symbolic action of switching off non essential lights for one hour which has “inspired millions to take a stand against climate change.”
Acharya has appealed citizens of Nagaland to log into www.earthhour.in to learn about ways to adopt simple practices in their day to day lives that are environment friendly.
