Kohima, watch the animated movie “The Lorax” during Earth Day celebrations on
April 22.
- DIMAPUR — Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher
Secondary School, Kohima, observed Earth Day on April 22 on the theme “Our
power, our planet,” aimed at instilling awareness and responsibility among
students towards protecting and preserving the environment.
- According to an update, the day began with a green pledge
ceremony during the first period, where students from all classes pledged to
care for the Earth and adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
- It also featured a series of age-appropriate, engaging
activities conducted throughout the day. Classes 1 and 2 participated in a
colouring activity focused on nature and the environment. Classes 3 and 4
watched the animated movie “The Lorax”, which carries a strong environmental
message about conservation and sustainability.

- Classes 5 and 6 took part in a painting competition
highlighting Earth Day themes. Classes 7 and 8 showcased their creativity in a
recycling art competition, crafting items from waste materials.
- Classes 9 and 10 engaged in a speech competition on
"The role of youth in saving our planet”. Class 12 students carried out
social work activities, promoting cleanliness and care for their surroundings.
